Are you new to marketing? Here’s my advice for new marketers.
Marketing your business or brand has become the number one way to market. It’s more cost effective and easier to reach your audience than offline marketing. But if you are a new marketer, you may not know where to begin or what to do. We would give these tips if someone asked us if we had any advice for new marketers.
1. Take Massive Action
Have you ever watched tv and noticed the same commercial being played over and over again. This company wants to make sure you see what they have to offer. You do not buy when you see the first commercial, but you may look into it after watching it a few times. They are taking massive action.
Whether you are promoting yourself, a business or a product, you have to take massive action. The more you put your content out there, the more eyeballs you will receive. This will help you to grow your business or your brand.
Some people need to see the information a few times before they make a decision. Actively promoting your content, especially on different social media sites, will broaden your reach and increase the chances of your content being seen.
2. Don’t Worry About What People Think
Online marketing can be a bit intimidating. Many are afraid of what their peers may think or say. Others are too afraid to take pictures or make videos because they aren’t comfortable with how they look. Remember, you look like you. Other people don’t care what you look like. They only care about the information you’ve given them.
3. Do What The Leaders Are Doing
Have you ever wanted to know what to do to effectively market online? Follow the example of the leaders who are already successful online. But don’t copy their content word for word. Put the content in your own words. Don’t copy their video word for word or use the exact same picture. What works for someone else may not work for you. So you have to change it up to match your personality to be attractive to your audience.
4. Stay Consistent
This is an important step. Consistency is key when marketing online. Many people need multiple exposures before they purchase or even decide to look at a business or product. More importantly, social media sites value those who post frequently. For example, if you consistently create videos and people watch them, YouTube will actually begin promoting your videos in the Suggest Videos sections as well as rank your videos.
Posting once in a blue moon is not going to cut it. The consistency of your content equals the consistency of your income. If you’re posting a little bit of the time, you’re going to make little income. If you’re creating content consistently, your income will grow exponentially.
5. Brand Yourself
Branding yourself is the most important step when marketing online. If you want to be successful, you can’t hide behind your company or product. Facts tell and stories tell. The sad truth is, people don’t care what your product or business does or have. They care about how it will solve their problem, benefit them or what help they will get.
When you brand yourself, you create know, like and trust with your audience. As your audience get to know you, they will start to like you. When they like you, they trust what you have to offer and will buy from you. Share your experience on the product/business has helped you. Share why you joined the business you’re promoting. These stores will draw your audience’s attention and they will look at what you have to offer.
6. Be Yourself
Marketing online is about authenticity. Relax and be yourself. People join people, not companies. And they can spot a fake a million miles away. If someone is interested in a business, they will sponsor shop. They look for the right person to join. A person may join you because of where you’re from, ethnicity, hair color, etc. People are attracted to people like them or people who they aspire to be.
Marketing yourself online can be a daunting task. There are different options on what marketers need to know when they begin marketing. These tips are my advice for new marketers. They’ve worked for us and others we’ve helped.
