Promoting and Repurposing Your Content
October was all about consistency for my YouTube channel. I uploaded over 50 videos, experimenting with a straightforward process; no promotion, no sharing, just uploading. My goal was to see how my content would perform relying solely on YouTube’s algorithms. However, November was all about promoting and repurposing my content.
Shifting Gears in November
The results in October were mixed, but enlightening. Some videos gained 3,000 views, while others hot 100 or 500. Engagement varied, but the overall stats were up, more views, comments, shares and subscribers. Revenue increased too. This experiment proved one thing: creating consistent content can move the needle, even without promotion.
Since I had a growing library of videos, it was time to take things up a notch. November’s focus was all about promoting and repurposing. Here was the game plan:
- Promoting Existing Content
- Social Media: I shared videos across Facebook and Instagram, utilizing my fan page and groups to amplify reach.
- Email Marketing: i sent updates to my email list, encouraging subscribers to check out my latest uploads.
- Discover how promoting and repurposing content can take your YouTube channel to boost views, engagement and growth.
- Boosted Posts: I planned to run small ads ($5 – $10) on high-performing videos to drive traffic and engagement.
- Repurposing Content
Content Creation Strategy
Consistency remains the cornerstone of my strategy. During the month, my routine involved batch recording 2-4 videos in one setting, saving time and maintaining focus. Here’s I planned to keep the process manageable:
- Planning Topics: Before recording, I jot down 2-3 topics to cover during my sessions.
- Batch Filming: I carve out 45 minutes to an hour daily to record multiple videos back-to-back
- Minimal Editing: My videos are clear, simple and to the point. Tools like Descript and Opus Pro streamline captioning and editing.
This approach no only saves times but also ensures that I can stay consistent without burning out.
Repurposing: The Hidden Power of Content
One of the biggest lessons from October is the untapped potential of repurposing. My straightforward videos provide flexibility for creative reworks. Adding captions, creating dynamic shorts or incorporating visual effects can breathe new life into existing content.
Short-form content, in particular, is a powerful way to drive engagement and build an audience. With platforms like YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and Facebook, even a snippet of a longer video can attract thousands of new viewers.
